What happened to Soloearn?

I used to regularly learn on Sololearn some time ago and I just revisited to learn more but everything's changed. I mean the UI and new hearts system and public codes and challenges? Do the old users feel the same? Which do you prefer? P.S- Not a complain/rant. Just curious.

I'm an old user ~6 years. For me: UI is fine. Modernized for modern audiences. Took me a bit to find some things at first, but that's expected after a major change I don't even know what the hearts and bits do/are for Public codes feel the same, unless you mean the codes the community do are different? That I agree with; feels like a different community now. Lessons feel the same, short and to the point (except for the obvious visual changes) Finally, down times are little to none now, back then they were abundant 😂 which i dont miss Also, what i miss is that community interactions are lost. Code of the day, community events, official SL code challenges and events, Q&As, etc. was something to look forward to and gave people an incentive to code or just browse people's creations. What do i prefer? Now, the app feels smoother, but dead unless you have friends. Back then functionality was hit or miss, but it was lively and interactive because of SL. Maybe back then because of the interactions

It seems like you came after 3 years. I joined sl 1 year ago, but I can estimate the structure of sl before 3 years. Yes, the hearts system, challenges system, UI changes a lot also many old courses are removed and some new courses are added to the courses list. https://www.sololearn.com/discuss/3205664/?ref=app

I just joined again 3 months ago, and I remember posting a long a**, straight from the heart, brutal review on Playstore. I was so culture shocked that time, but quickly adapt to the new environment. Some features are still off to me, but the SL community is nice - like they have your back whenever you needed, so I don't mind much anymore. I must say, SoloLearn is still one of the best interactive platforms to learn programming.

Yea it's gone through a number of changes. I first came on here around 7-8 years ago. I find the UI to be improved for the most part, although I have come across a couple bugs with it. I noticed some changes to the lessons that were improvements (haven't seen most of it though). Profile view has changed. I would say I prefer this system in terms of the UI changes. There has been a decline in the community though. There are less quality questions, and also less quality answers. It can be tough since it's more difficult to prune things out since the removal of the dislike button. Moderation has also changed a lot. I'm also not a fan of substituting explanations of answers with AI, since it isn't a reliable use of AI (i.e., people may start asking all their questions to Chat-gpt and get some wrong or very general feedback). I wish we could create lessons openly. Never got around to that in the short period of time it was allowed.

I prefer the old system of learning. Instead of three parts (that there's just the first two, in fact), just a very big one
