Learning python deeper or learning ai. Which is better for a fresher

Which is better, blindly copy pasting AI generated code or being able to intelligently understand and debug it?

Say you asked AI to generate a Django project for you. You still have to know how to modify it or debug it if something is not working. Can you do it without knowing at least the basics of Django?

AI is not hard to learn. Making sense of the output and being able to spot possible problems it might contain is what's hard, unless you don't really care and just want to output anything...

it's like getting on a boat without knowing how to swim. You can only hope nothing goes wrong.
