it is an enhanced GUI framework for java.. it has components like anchor pane, stage, Scenes, buttons, image view.. many more... And additionally it has a Scene builder .. One more thing it is easy in handling event, an fxml controller is created which automatically adds the handler for your components you have used (after you specify it in the scene builder) , it has got a good interface and much more

JAVAFX IS NOT the same as Swing.
JAVAFX DOES NOT HAVE THE FUNCTIONS OF SWING FRAMEWORK..
It is just that , Swing has been outdated, Oracle does not apply any new updates to It. But it is still in use..
whereas JavaFx is future of GUI based on java.. It has many features..

Yes, but it works somewhat different way than Swing so if you have been used to Swing earlier you have to learn that new principles before you can actually work with FX.
