USED FOR JOBS AND INTERVIEWS!!!!!!

Hello everyone, I had a quick question. When you get a certificate, is it good enough to show future employers or not good enough? Yes you would have other things like a portfolio and degrees, but would it be helpful or a step up if you showed them you have a certificate with like C++ programming? Just Curious.

If you are talking about the certification by sololearn. The answer is no. Or you can say that you are familiar with basic syntax of c++, include flow control, basic understanding of oop. It depends on what kind position you apply to, the correspond advance course you should take. For example, to be a application programer in windows, you may require knowledge about window forms in .net framework. An ap programer in linux, you have to understanding gtk+/qt. To be a api programer, you may have to understand socket programing. Most of times, you have equip stl and boost libraries to enhance your c++ programs.

Sololearn certificate has no value for employers because it only shows that you know basic things which must know every programmer who wants to earn money with coding. I would not recommend to place it in your portfolio at all because it will look same as if you would place your child drawings in portfolio while applying for a job of professional designer.
