How to show your tags on a web page?

Question

My question is tags get auto recognized and they are not show in what we see on web page. But if suppose i want to make a page of tutorial then to show a text like" <a> is used for links" how can i do that?

You will need to use HTML Character Entities

I've been looking for the answer for hours. there are works in progress on new HTML standard, markdown seems to be taking over these types of tasks, but I'll keep looking
