@Pixie <b> and <strong> are not same. Yes they look the same and they are indentical in term of presentation.

For blind preople,web crawlers and bots <b> and <strong> are not same. <b> just say that make this text bold, whether <strong> tag says that this word/text (inside strong tag) has a strong meaning or it has a greater influence over the other words/text in the document.

Strong text is similar to bold text.
strong text is used to mark text as important.
<strong> can serves the same purpose as <b>

you can style them differently. the main difference is in semantics. strong defines text which is important.
