Probably, just a bit. Don't overestimate it.

You will have to learn about physics and chemistry (material science) as well. And there's mathematics. Lots of mathematics!

If you want to brush up or improve your math skills, have a look at https://www.khanacademy.org. I think that Salman Khan does an excellent job there.

Year later edit: I have had a change of mind for a career and I now do this just as a hobby. Just so everyone who reads this and wasn't appart of the origonal conversation is clear.
