What changes occurs when we update the course?

Question

I have completed three courses , and I have those courses as offline.. but usually I find the update course button.. when I tap on it, it doesn't give any update in the lessons contained

I am assuming it will check for any updates and apply them if they have not been applied already.
there may not have been any updates to apply since you last updated
