HTML is a mark up language and CSS is a style sheet language so technically neither are programming languages. The ones I know of are: Assembly ABC (Python predecessor) Basic C C# C++ COBOL Fortran Java Lisp Pascal Perl PHP Python Ruby SQL Visual Basic

@SomeN0Body VBA (Visual Basics for Applications) is used in Microsoft Office programs Excel and Access. I don't know of any other uses but I'm sure there are some.

"Hacksell" is not a language. Haskell, however, is a purely functional language which is perfect for lazy yet brilliant PhD's. It should also totally change its mascot to a blue elephant, for reasons.
