What should I go for : Python or Advanced Java..??

I have just completed core Java. I want to learn Advanced Java. But my many friends have suggested that I should go for Python because it is high in demand and popular. What should I do..??

Depends on your interest. Python is quite easy to learn. Simplified syntaxes. If you know both it would be much better. And final suggestion is Go with what you are interested in. Be good at one language. Even a good BASIC or FORTRON developer will be paid higher than the worst JAVA or Python developer.

if you are working, pick up what will get you best reputation at your workplace. if you are a student, Python can be a good choice. it stands right alongside Lisps in being the fastest of languages that help in translating thoughts into machine instructions. true to this, scientists, researchers, artists, game builders, robot makers have all increasingly started using Python for real tasks. when you have squeezed every bit out of Python for your project, you can use Java under the surface and get Java's write once benefit along with other goodies of the JVM

I think you should go for python, it has very good requirement. you can do a lot of stuff with this for personal use and office use. its better than java. many of big companies are having platform on python. i also understood its importance after a project implementation in my company.

It is no longer enough to use only one programming language. My recommendation: Deep knowledge in one language and basic knowledge in 3-4 others. Both languages are popular and effective.
