Is there a better place to learn the theory and jargon?

Im working through the c++ course and have got a good way through. Im able to understand MOST of what i'm reading but not all and its getting harder as I go through. The problem is that I can fill in the blanks on the module tests and get them right first time (mostly), understanding what needs to be where. I feel I could muddle through to the end of the course but still not understand a lot of what I should do. I do like the SoloLearn platform and have surprised myself at how long i've actually stuck at the language; Its the constant addition of different terms to a description of something that just makes it seem a lot more confusing that it ought to be. Also, things like, an Object had characteristics, also known as attributes or properties. Why aren't they referred to as properties to begin with? Are there times when all these words could be used? Any alternatives to SL for the jargon or additional tools, cheat sheets would be really helpful to me. Thanks!

I think that's one of the reasons this section of Q&A exists. You can come here and ask about the things you are not understanding. After understanding them better you can go to the code playground and apply what you just learned. I mean, we learn better when we are seeing what we are learning in practice.
