Why does everything written within <body>,</body>, come in a form of paragraph?

When I run a code written within the <body> tags everythings outputs as a paragraph even though I write it in from of bullet points in the code page. PS: I am so new to this. Just joined 5 mins ago

whatever you put inside the <body> tags will be interpreted as plain text unless it's in between < and > for example: img src="image.jpg" /> this is going to show as simple text but this: <img src="image.jpg" /> this will be interpreted as an image si it will display an image
