when you spend hours learning mysql_* but later realize that php 7 doesn't support them anymore.

Yeah...I learned this while compiling phpcgi for Android (to use in Termux). If you are willing to recompile PHP you can add support back in, but this is a non-trivial task (no joke; I spent a while on this because 'configure' is picky and needs several things right). I think native worked for me...statically linked...eventually.

Not sure what PHP version CodeAnywhere uses on their free dev boxes, but it's probably not 7. There's still hope!

yea I spent so many hours on YouTube watching tutorials and reading stuff online. I even wrote the code but when I tried running it I got the list of errors. Now I can't even mix mysql_ and mysqli_
