The basic stuff is mostly the same, but there will be some things you'll have to change if you do them. I'd try to find tutorials for java8, but if you can't find them, I'd say any practice helps, so this too

I really recommend those kind of tutorials as they touch the most important things about Java, and programming in general. When learning a new language it is important to make sure you know how to solve any problems you have within your code. Sometimes, external tools are needed to do it, such as checkamrx or others that help with code security.
