As anything, Sololearn has bright side as well as dark side... and even, this is very subjective ;P

From my point of view: on bright side stand good beginner courses and people emulation ( social share ), while on dark side XP ans up/downvote system, linked to priority of Sololearn devs for accumulate more and more users rather than privilegiate content stuff quality in Q&A threads ( too much noise, not enough signal )
