Revise XP for challenges

Question

The way the XPs are calculated when you become experienced is mindboggling. Currently I get hit with -30 XP for losing 4:5 to people 4 levels above me, yet score measly 1XP for each win. The only times challenge promises 3-5 XP for a win is when the opponent has already answered all 5 questions correctly (so what's the point taking it up?). Basically the challenge system is worthless for anyone who actually poses a challenge for others to compete against.

I'm not asking how the XP are calculated, I'm pointing out that there is no incentive for good players to bother. I enjoy the challenges because e.g. of the quirks of syntax they can teach me, but I'm not going to put up with -200XP total for last 2 weeks' 135-11 record.

If the points are supposed to be a motivation, the current system is a deterrent.
