Simply take a break : come back later with better ideas, better solutions and better prepared, knowing what to expect : and how to handle it.

Start commenting parts of the code and try to reproduce the error until I figure out what's wrong...

In such situation, I would first like to take a break where I try to forget all the code and later on come back to coding and start from the beginning without thinking the old one. Always try to analyze your code with memory management and concept only.

If everything goes wrong, then I just take a deep breath. If there's still time left in the day, I try to look at it from another angle, try to understand what went wrong. Maybe call it a day if it's too messy. Then I try the next day. If it's still too messy, I build it again from scratch, try a different way. And most important, I always take short breaks now and then to avoid getting burned out☺
