From a simple programmer to an app developer. How this transition happens?

I guess my question is applicable to many others.
I know the basics of Python language. What's next for me ? where can I start to learn to build apps or learn higher order programming. Or should i learn some other language first ?

First, you need to know that what basic type of programming language is needed for the particular SDK(Software Development Kit).
If you are going for Android app development, try going through Java documentation.
Then you can download an SDK for the app development and search for online tutorials.
Finally, for publishing, you can see the different app stores.
