Is having certification enough?

Is a degree a necessity for a career in coding or is it enough to just be certified?

Remember that this certificate doesn't really require skills to get. You can guess the answers or copy them from elsewhere and you can try as often as you want. Now imagine you are a company. Would you hire (and pay) a person who has nothing more than a certificate? I guess not. You want to see that this person is really good and worth the money. A degree is really helpful, but not the only thing and not a necessity as well. As a company you wanna see that the applicant is able to think logically and is able to work out great projects. So what you're looking for is • working examples/own programms • valuation from other companies the applicant previously worked in • won competitions • activity in clubs • and so on The more the better. Just be active and show what you can. That is the way to your job in coding.
