Need ideas on Open source project

I need problems that can be solved using software. I don't mind being a collaborator though.

I'm not sure if this link is relevant, but it should contain a good number of suggestions for projects. https://www.sololearn.com/Discuss/187862/?ref=app

Inverse kinematics if you like robotics (even just a little), genetic algorithms or NeuroEvoltion if you like artificial intelligence, the possibilities are endless. (:

Nothing tangible comes out of this attitude. I speak from both personal experience as well as that from watching others. You need many things to survive let alone succeed when doing open source. Time and material commitment. A regular time slot every week or day or what ever suits you. A decent PC that can at the least compile, debug and run basic tests of the software. A steady mentor for the full duration of your formative months or years. In open source, this happens mostly after a few months of you mucking around, failing miserably many times, asking stupid questions on your way to submitting your first few patches. If you are lucky, someone may take you under their wings. Without this mentor, your journey will feel painfully long. You can start fresh off the boat after finishing the courses here with your tech skills. Just maintain the same mindset. Humble and hungry. You will learn build systems, ci, CD, testing frameworks, git or similar, vi or Emacs or some ide, and more. Give yourself 2-3 years for all these. If you paid any attention, you would have seen this is pretty close to a student life or bootcamp life or the life of a newcomer to the workforce. Because it is. The pay you get here is in the form of recognition and respect, and most importantly, reach. Imagine if you were to be writing for Firefox. Millions will be your reach.
