Brackets (free)
WebMatrix 3 (free)

^I use those when I'm playing with web stuff.

VS Express
MonoDevelop

^I use those when I'm messing with anything else.

I've used Notepad++, and I like it for what it is, but it's lacking in many features that make programming less of an annoyance. It simply depends what you want in your editor.
