this thought was FLOATing around my head for an while and i wonder if programming is Art like create what you like to create, in that sort of way or is programming just making something good out of limited commands

At least for copyright purposes, I think programs are considered (art)works. As for if I would consider it art, I would say so. It's a medium that every person uses differently, and for different purposes. Not only can some of the things you can make with it art in their own right (games, animations, some people may even say good UI), but the code itself can be considered a display of creativity.

It's all about how you use commands. :) They're no more limited than the letters of the alphabet are; simply depends how well you are at forming words and sentences to make something from letters. But yes, I suppose you could consider it art, depending upon what you do with it. For me, it's quite literal, and I use my programming skills to create video games, which is certainly art. The more and more you program, the more and more the world around you "turns into code." You start to realize that everything in your life can be broken down in the exact same ways that code does.

No. Someday, when P = NP Problem solved, everyone is Mozart. Everyone is van Gogh. Programming will 'destroy' art.
