I am in full agreement with Roman. Especially code; people are often afraid of hearing "So, that'll be 01000001 for the letter A..." and so on and so forth. However, a markup language such as HTML is good, since it is simple and visually simplistic.

@Marija Jolevska,
It's a good idea, but we must remember, JavaScript is growing into a more mature and serious scripting language, if you can arrange so that it can be playful and fun that's great, but if it gives them headache more then fun maybe html, html5, css would do fine, it's just my opinion.

@4rotender
Science proved that it's easier for children than for adults to learn something new... Just guide them step by step... and then, they're monsters of tomorrow in the domain they've been oriented...

it's a very good idea. I have been looking for a good and affordable web dev or learning to program tutorial for a while with no success. There are some of course but a bit expensive. If you plan to do such a thing, I would encourage you to do it because I am sure there are many parents like me out there.

I don't agree. Explain. What age do you mean? If after 9-10, then YES - it will be cool idea! Scratch is good for beginning.
But if before they can learn simple logic, general concepts, and visual design, simplified, maybe UML. Little portions.
I meant that other disciplines are also important. And programming is hard area. Some adults have difficulties, like me😂😂😂, but what can we say about children?!
And before learning such skills on the internet, parents must restrict their attention from IT, GADGETS. It will be amasing and usefull, that they learn with real things initially, such as different games: construction, for instance.
In their childhood they must develop other vital skills. Maybe I am wrong, but it's my strong conviction!👶👦👪
