What's the potential of Ruby?

Which are its limitations compared to other programming languages?

I'd say Ruby has much potential. It's a simple, easy flowing language which is very human readable, yet also powerful and quite useful. Not only that, it also has many API choices for more features, including official website APIs like Twitter. Infact, I'm making a simple bot using the Twitter API, which won't take me as long as, say, Java could.

People tend not to believe in Ruby, however, because it seems to be not as powerful as other languages, which sometimes, it may not be, but demand for it is VERY high. Ruby on Rails programmers are frequently needed for companies with websites.

Overall, I'd say there's potential.
