Anybody in this forum of have changed his/her profession to developer?

do anybody has change his/her profession for being a developer? for e.g from teaching, finance etc to be a programmer. if anybody has done I would be delighted to hear his/her experience in that process.

I had been working in internet marketing for 5 years and now I've quit my job to do industrial training in PHP and hence change my profession to a website developer.
