SQL is what?

Question

i am a beginner , i want to know that SQL is what type of Language?
i mean Simple "Structured Query Language" or also come in category of Programming language

hope you will understand on my question.

As the name kind of says it - it is a *query* language. You write queries or instructions to the database, to return you some values or modify them (Create/Read/Update/Delete).
It is not a programming language per se.

It is a scripting language.

With sql you can do anything regarding databases. It is only a language, so you still need a database enviroment to run your scripts.
