Is Bitcoin currency is in use in western countries?

what is the current use of Bitcoin in the world?

I havent seen anywhere around here (Australia) that accepts it as a payment method. There maybe one or two places but it is not widespread at all.

It seems a speculative venture to invest any hard cash into to me. I will stick to hard currency for the time being 😊
