Good practice tutorias that helped me would be those found on Udacity for free. i started with https://www.udacity.com/course/android-basics-user-interface--ud834 and then you can continue with Android Basics User Input and then Multi-screen and so on. They represent good practice as they give you coding challenges and taks to do on your own.

You will create lots of sample apps that will really guide you through later.
