Need opinion on *best* and *simplest* scripting language to begin on back-end wed development.

need advise on either
(ruby/python/php) .although I am looking forward to go through as much as I can, I need opinions on best route to follow.
would be better if u can weigh the pros and cons

idk for backend but you can use front end and back end script it is simple... (php-fusion) or download a simple cms .. but for the backend i don't see simple scripts. I'm talking about php

Great.. I didnt expect it to be easy .. im good with any tho, I just need a more convinient one to start with...
