Done with the basics. What should I do next?

Well, can someone tell me what's the next step? I mean, everytime I google java tutorials I only learn the basics. But what about the layout of a program and so on? Do I have to create it in Eclipse or is there another tool for that?

I would say that an up to date book like the Java complete reference guide etc' can be your answer.
Browse the amazon kindle store (or other digital books stores) for books about java.
The only problem is that books on programming can be outdated quickly, though i still find it useful.
