Step one. Don't research how to make a virus.
Step two. Research how to make a program to download
Srep three. Code that program so badly that the computer is unrunnable after that
Favourites among the community are: endless loops, unreturnable strings, registry editing... etc.

Realistically, anything unhelpful to the computer user, can be considered a virus. Because it's unwanted.
