The best OS for programming?

I hear Ubuntu (or other Linux-like OS) is better than Windows, but why? What's pros have Ubuntu about Windows in programming?

Well Linux is used for servers etc. But as a Linux user I would not trashing Windows. They are both good OS. However when I need something done I go back to Windows, Linux is still not reliable enough, when I have time I go with Linux, it is fun. (ArchLinux and Manjaro, started on ubuntu). Both have their adventages.

Or dual boot, just don't forget that Linux's GRUB will delete Windows' bootmgr. But if you just wanna try it VM is better choice.

Yeah, I like Windows, but Linux can be interesting to test too, maybe, installing a virtual machine in Windows works. Thanks ;)
