Why python?

Python is a great language for anyone to learn. From beginners to intermediates, it has all tastes of what a programming language should have. Firstly it is very efficient, because it does not need any compiler intervention for executing your program (script). Secondly, it provides Imperative and Functional paradigms (like how Scheme programming language has), thirdly it also provides OOP styled coding. All over making it standalone king of scripting languages.
