it's in the form of ax²+bx+c=0 which is a quadratic equation. The solution to this is given by:
x = (-b±√(b²-4ac))/2a here b=6 so...
x = (-6±√(36-4ac))/2a which can be simplified to...
x= (-3±√(9-ac))/a
