When you said you failed, what does that mean? For me, I became good at web dev because I was asked to create a web interface for our company, as well as a paperless systems and a chat system for employees. Prior to that, I was just a desktop developer with C++/C#. I read up on HTML/CSS/JavaScript/jQuery/MySQL/PHP for the project, and then just started making it. Over the course of developing it, I had to learn new things and figure things out, which made me become better at all of the things I learned. By the end of it all, I was pretty good with it all. Something you can try, read the languages that I mentioned and then create a website with a user management system, member area, and a chat system with friend list that transitions between all pages when you're logged in. That'll help teach you a lot of stuff and by the end you'll have a cool little site built. Also, if you run into problems, check out the website www.stackoverflow.com. It's always been an important resource to me during my time and you can get a lot of useful information there. Read their guidelines though because it's a strict site, so you'll want to supply to necessary information for them to help you.

what have you tried exacly? were you doing some courses like 3Wschool or codeacademy? things like that are very cool with showing you how cool and easy web dev is (okay, not so easy, but you know). after you know something and you have built some web pages, search for some competitions around the internet and you can even take a lookt a fiverr as there are people that would like to pay for a good-looking page!
