my advice just get started.
python is not very hard.
compared to C/C++ is more easier to learn.

you can do AI in other languages like java. python is not necessary.

if you haven't started programming in any language then try something you like. getting started is important.
choose python if you like it or some other language of your choice.

Not really, but it has a lot of stuff to work with. Great math, computer vision, very wide string operation sets and much more watever you need to create ur own neuronet ar AI. Pretty much games use it exactly for bots logic.
