Why is there users who have more than 18000 xp and they aren't Platinum

I've seen many users that they have more than 18000 XP and they aren't yet Platinum. is it normal

Platinum begins with level 16 and that, in turn, is reached when you collect 20k xp.

Upon my platinum, I lost a challenge and dropped to 19986XP, for example :)

But there ARE users with like 5000XPs. It is possible ONLY if you get 20000XP then reduce your XP, like say, reset your courses, do something to make sololearn ban you and deduct XP (dunno how it works)
