Maybe start out with Head First Java. But see to it that you code in Java. You'll grasp it way better! :)

If you want a book from an indian writer, go for Java by Sachin Malhotra. And else head first java is the best

Whenever you want to learn something, go for the person who created it i.e James Gosling :) The Java Programming Language by James Gosling, Ken Arnold, David Holmes. Although I would recommend you to use stackoverflow.com if you have any problems while you are learning java Also youtube will have plenty of tutorials for you
