Website builders have been around since the 90s, so it's nothing new, which means there is great reasons why many people choose to do it manually. Just like any software, it's only as good as it was created to be; garbage in, garbage out. As such, it's limited by however it was created, whereas you'll be able to use your skills to create whatever is wanted/needed, and often in a more efficient way. As well, you'll be able to approach things at angles that may not have been considered or not easily done from the builder. If something happens and you can't even read the code or add to it, then what? From my experience, and this was a LONG time ago, the website builders usually create a lot of sloppy code, which is part of why I prefer to do it myself. Even further, most website builders can't accomplish the things that you'll be able to accomplish using all of the various frameworks and languages.
To sum it up, it's better to have/be a web designer than use a web builder. However, if you don't have the time, money, or dedication to learn the web technologies, then maybe a website builder is your best way to go.

HTML and CSS are not programming languages and you are not doing programming with them. you are merely just styling and adding content. think of it as working with Adobe premier.
I doubt these commercial solutions are viable if you wish to have a website like facebook or build a web games or any complex web applications for that matter.
enlisting their services are no different than enlisting other programmers to code for you.
you are no longer "programming" , you are a client of other software companies and developers

Hi mate, first, I'm sure you know deep inside that learning anything is actually means no loss, instead, you are investing, besides, if you think of it, sure there are many wizard floating online to ease us in everything, starting from making our own website, to shopping.
But philosophically, if you get a pair of shoes from a store is totally different with if you craft your own, why? because you know what you want, and need, and you alone know, how to make the most comfortable shoes for yourself, you know exactly the material quality, and way to make that shoes be best for you.
Back to the question, I guess, at the very least, if you know web how-to, then you can use that web wizard, just to help you so less time would be needed for development, but you can dig into the code, optimize it, add your ideas into it etc etc. Those who didn't or do not know however, are stuck with what was given, because they don't know what to do to make it better, or suite their requirements.
Well mate, know this, there's never any need to regret what you learn, but somewhere down the line, you probably would have a reason to regret, if you choose to not to learn :)
