Native vs Hybrid apps?

We see a lot of platforms these days that claim to create apps near to native apps/games. What in your opinion is better way. Do you advice native tools like Android studio/xcode or xamarin, phonegap, unity or similar tools for beginners or people who start out now. Share your experiences.
