How do u set up a program where you have to find the length and width of a pool with talking to a customer

Could you please be more specific?
I'd personally use scanners and some println statements because I don't really know a lot about User Interface, but you could program an interface with some input boxes to get the values. You'd also need (of course) some message dialogs to tell the user what to do.
