I mean, there are lots of snippets, lots of free code blocks, can I use it in my project without any doubt?

Legally, you have to tell where a code you used come from. Sometimes, there is a LICENCE with the code, if it is the case you have to read it to know what you are allowed to do

Even getting an algorithm from the web should be documented with a comment. You don't want anyone to think you own or stoled it.
