I hate Google's business and data mining practices, but in some ways Microsoft are just as bad. Do I have to pick one? Can I say none of the above? I don't really trust either, but if I'm forced, then Microsoft because of C#, Visual Studio and Windows 10. What have Google done for me without asking for my soul in return? Not much.

I want to say, google this in its charmed company and a good search engine, microsoft is the company that makes the operating system, and other things, to be honest you asked a very flawed question

Depends on what you need and believe in.
What are you asking in terms of?
Browser? I choose Google since it is less proprietary
Office software? Google since it is free, MS if it is company related (more secure)
Search engine: Google, more users hence more trained

Programming language? It depends on what you want:
MS Windows? Maybe MS, but you can use “open source” C or IDE like eclipse
Apple: Xcode, open source
iOS app: Xcode
Android: android sdk

Although some programmers still us windows (due to security support),
some use Linux (less secure/controllable by corporate but no iOS support), most use Macs although similar issues to Linux support more programming platforms (e.g. MS visual studio IDE, Android SDK, Xcode, and open source compilers)
