I started with SQL because I was using Microsoft Access and wanted to be able to talk to it with SQL instead of using the GUI all of the time. That being said, if you simply want to learn to code I would start with C++. It seems to be the most well developed course I have taken so far and the principles taught in C++ extend to many of the other languages. I'm sure I will be reviewing the courses multiple times and I hope to be able to write and example code for myself which has examples of the most important concepts in each language. An "identical" text-based game in each language could show the differences and the similarities.
