I enjoy using both of them. Kotlin is certainly a great addition to the Java family, and makes a lot of stuff easier to deal with. However, I still find myself using Java just as much as I was prior. As someone in the profession though, I'd recommend Java developers take the time to learn Kotlin also; I believe it'll become much more relevant within the next few years. Also, Kotlin works on everything that Java works on, and you can combine the two programming languages together while still being able to compile/execute the code. Its ability to be interoperable with Java is a really good selling point on taking time to learn it also.

they are actually ment to work together, but imo kotlin is better
however, learning kotlin is much harder at the moment
much less documentation and tutorials on it

Yup. They're meant to work together to make the transition from Java to it a much easier to deal with process. If you think about it, since the code is interoperable, it isn't going to break your existing code as you transition (or not) the code. This makes things a lot less messy and creates less resistance toward using Kotlin. Java certainly isn't going anywhere though, and people will continue to utilize it, so it isn't to say that Kotlin is meant to replace Java. Who knows what the future holds though.
