What is to be used as backend for windows forms app

I am creating a windows forms application that uses access db as backend is client system need to be installed with ms access to run my application or simply the .accdb file is needed

If I am not mistaken your client would need the access application as well as the framework that your application is being created with in order to be fully functional.
