How long will it take if I study java for 2 hours every day to actually make a software, for example a music player?

I am looking forwards to work at ikub.al in my country. ikub.al is a software development company, they mostly create webpages with applets for private businesses and public service sector. They are looking forwards for .Net and Java programmers. From tomorrow I will study 2 hours Java each day. You think is enough? If yes, how long will it take for me to actually write a software so that I can prove my skills so that they hire me? Thank you in advance!

Hi Javatron, case 1: A) for beginner: complete the Sololearn JAVA course , it would not take more than 10 hours to complete. Take aways: you can learn basics of core JAVA in quick time. B) start learning the JAVA in depth by reading books like The Java complete reference by Herbert Schildt. The book has around 600 pages, if you read 20 pages a day, you will complete reading in a month. if you read and practice well for a month, I am sure that you will become master in java. case 2: if you are already familiar with Java, just recap the basics here and study in depth using books.
