Interesting opinion))) I begun coding at freelance. After 6 month begun work at the office at the small company. Worked there more than 1 years and would like to change company. Is it worth trying to get a job in a big company?

I personally feel that start up companies offer a lot of coding practice for beginners than big companies. You might also feel these jobs are sometime hectic because they are trying to build something quickly. In big companies, you rarely get a chance to build something from scratch. Instead you will be building a small feature which will be part of some bigger project. You need to understand a lot about the project like it's libraries and framework before implementing anything. But if you work for such big projects, you will learn good coding and design practices. You will have the company of senior programmers. you will gain some knowledge from their experiences.

You can definitely try a job in big companies and experience it yourself. I have given an account of my experience in an Indian IT scenario. It might be different in your country.
