Which should I learn first, Java or JavaScript?

I'm new to this and all I know is a bit HTML. Appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.

Java and Java script are like apples and oranges. They both share the name Java, yet are radically different. What are you going to pursue? Desktop or web development? If web development, both languages are useful. Learn Javascript first. Complete learning HTML. Then learn CSS. Learn modern technologies, not old ones. Build some projects using your newfound front end skills. (The front end is what runs on the users browser.) Play around a lot, and when you are comfortable with these 3 pillar languages, learn Java for the backend. (Any logic that lives inside the server itself.) If you intend to only do desktop development, then learn Java. Don't waste time with JS.

Java is used for Applications: desktop, mobile or any device. JavaScript is more related to Web: so it adds interaction to your web site or you can create web application, too

Thanks a ton. I'm gonna learn both but I'll go with your advice and go for JS first. I'm not sure what to pursue yet, just want to learn for now.
