Which is better for implementing web apps. Node JS or php?

What are the merits and demerits of using both ?

Node of course! PHP 7 is always too slow comparing node and asynchrous principle.

PHP is a part of past. Node is the futur.

if you are familiar with JS, node.js is better. otherwise, php is better
if you mastered both, you can use both.

Node js is awesome, but PHP still stands in terms of speed and mostly use.
Also if you check Github for the most backend frameworks it is Laravel which is a PHP framework.

In my opinion JavaScript is better... And it has a plus, it's very simple to use

@Nick I see they are using php 5.6 the latest version of php is the fastest (PHP 7.x)
